Medicare Safety Net
Did you know that individuals are automatically registered for the Medicare Safety Net? If you want to register for the Safety Net as a couple or family you will need to contact Medicare. Being registered as a couple or family means that if your spouse or children also have out of pocket medical expenses then these will contribute to the one safety net.

Pregnancy Birth and Beyond is a website run by Sydney based midwife in Private Practice (Jane Palmer). Jane’s website is very informative and has a lot of links to information and a variety of different services.
Spinning Babies is a project of Gail Tully’s. Gail is a midwife in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
Over 30 years with birth and over 20 years as a homebirth midwife. Gail was a DONA International approved doula trainer and kept busy organizing active community doula program development in hospitals and non-profits in Minneapolis/St. Paul. HBA is the peak national body for Homebirth in Australia. For over thirty years, HBA has worked to support consumers and midwives who choose homebirth. In pregnant women, Listeria infection is usually a mild illness. A high temperature before or during labour may be the only sign. However, even a mild form of the illness can affect the unborn baby (foetus) and can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature birth or a very ill baby at birth.
